Employers Health and Wellbeing Forum

At Work Well Hub we are passionate about creating healthy workplaces. We believe that developing a workplace wellbeing culture isn’t rocket science, with a little structure and vision all organisations, no matter what size can create a great working environment in which people thrive not just survive.

We also believe in sharing best practice, so with this in mind we created the Dorset workplace health and wellbeing forum.

The forum takes place bi-monthly and brings likeminded employers together to share best practice, provide ideas and tools to help improve, extend or introduce health and wellbeing into the workplace and provide guest speakers to inform and educate on key topics. Meetings take place across Dorset and are always free to attend.

The forum is for business owners, senior managers, human resource, occupational health and health and safety professionals.

Our November Forum is on Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD's) in the workplace. According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) 8.9 million Working days were lost due to work-related musculoskeletal disorders in 2016/17 which cost the UK economy £14 billion.

To support this key topic we are delighted to announce our speakers for the MSD forum:

Joshua Smith of Life Balance Chiropractic Centre. Joshua will be speaking on the link between stress and musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace and will also be offering free one to one postural assessments to all delegates.

Stuart Entwistle of Osmond Ergonomics. Stuart will be discussing the importance of assessing employees who use display screen equipment (DSE) and looking at why they need to know how to use the devices safely to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD’s)

Hot Topic: David Mayes – Mindful Leadership

Workwell Hub and Mindful Employer are delighted to invite you to Dorset's Workplace Health and Wellbeing Forum.

The forum takes place bi-monthly and aims to bring like minded employers together to share best practice, provide ideas and tools to help improve, extend or introduce health and wellbeing into the workplace and provide guest speakers to inform and educate on key topics.

The session topic is Mindful Leadership and is being delivered by our trainer, David Mayes.   David has a wealth of experience in behavioural frameworks, leadership development and coaching managers and combines these skills with his work as a mindfulness practitioner to deliver the popular Mindful Leader Training Course. 

Mindful Leadership is about being present, on purpose thus increasing personal discipline and focus in a similar way to emotional intelligence.  Being mindful enhances emotional awareness, increases listening and decision-making skills.  This short presentation will help you understand how being a Mindful Leader can help reduce stress and increase productivity in your workforce.
